Job Description
We are currently looking for a Senior Development Scientist to join the Flow Cytometry development team at Beckman Coulter Life Sciences based in Suzhou China.
The incumbent will serve as an integral team player for evaluating and implementing new technologies during reagent and instrumentation development. The incumbent is expected to work independently with limited degree of supervision within well-defined boundary conditions and timelines; will participate in the project planning; contribute to the study designs for the feasibility, characterization and verification of the flow cytometry systems and manufacturing processes including the hardware, software and reagent elements development; write study protocols, execute studies and analyze data, summarize and present results and write study reports; exercise judgment within defined procedures and best practices to determine appropriate actions; contribute to the trouble shooting of technical issues and recommend resolution; maintain well organized laboratory notebooks in compliance with relevant policies and procedures.
The incumbent will work closely with the product development team to provide input to user needs, product design requirements and performance specifications; collaborate with internal colleagues from different functions and external partners to achieve project objectives and deliver timely solutions to meet business needs.
The incumbent will provide support to the on-market flow cytometer analyzers; visit or interview customers, apply scientific and market knowledge anchored in a deep understanding of user needs and our products to provide support to our customers, in field issue investigation and development of content for customer-facing materials.
Requirements and Qualifications:
A minimum of a MS degree in bioengineering, biology, or immunology with 5 years of relevant scientific experience; or a Ph.D. in bioengineering, biology or immunology with 3 years of relevant scientific experience.
Experience with system product development (instrumentation and multicolor flow applications) is desired and clinical background is a plus.
Possess up to date knowledge around the flow cytometry applications in the research, biodiscovery and clinical space.
Meticulous attention to detail, proficient reasoning and problem-solving skills in experimental design, data analysis and interpretation.
Demonstrate good understanding of the scientific method, various experimental designs and statistical data analysis approaches, statistical analysis tools, like JMP or Minitab is a plus.
Ability to work collaboratively fostering professional, constructive relationships as part of a team while also working independently to produce data and meet challenging timelines and goals.
Excellent organization skills and time management skills to be able to efficiently evaluate, prioritize and handle multiple tasks and priorities.
Demonstrate ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with colleagues and various functions throughout the organization in Chinese and English.
Native Chinese language and proficiency in written and spoken English language.
Understanding design control process and experience in development of IVD diagnostic products is a plus.
Knowledge of AI technology, machine learning and other flow cytometry clustering algorithms is a plus.
