We're currently hiring a Project Manager, Operations. This is a great opportunity for an individual who is looking to grow and expand their knowledge in a Project Management career.
This role is located in Torrance, CA the second largest suburb of Los Angeles county. Just 19 minutes drive to Los Angeles International Airport nestled along the beautiful Santa Monica Bay.
As a project manager, this individual is responsible for delivery of value engineering projects by leading a project team through efficient project definition, successful project planning and execution to fulfill the overall project targets and on time delivery of the project. The project manager will also be responsible for building out a funnel of projects to meet the savings targets for the organization.
The project manager will actively control status of all project targets and manages project risk during execution of all project stages. The project manager will report progress to senior management. This individual must be able to work in a matrix environment and understand what is required to successfully drive a project to completion.
Assure execution of value engineering projects, within timeline, budget and quality constraints while meeting scope and quality system requirements
Achieve milestones of stage gate/tollgate development process
Actively use Danaher Growth Tools
Support development of department specific processes and tools
Maintain quality standards to company quality system and ISO
Define team structure and project strategy to achieve on time delivery of project
Manage the critical path of the project
Controls project costs and prepares accurate forecasts
Supports development of department-specific processes and tools
Bachelor's degree in a life science or chemistry field with 5 years’ experience in product Engineering or Development
Graduate degree in a life science discipline with at least 2 years’ experience Product Engineering or development
Minimum of 3 years’ project management experience
15-20% travel is required, some of which may be international
Able to work and travel beyond normal business hours as required by projects
Key Skills & Attributes:
PMP certification preferred
Experienced leading interdisciplinary project teams
Experience in risk management and reduction methodologies
Knowledge of Lean Principles and Practices
Solid understanding of life sciences and/or healthcare an asset
Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, Project and PowerPoint Stage gate design control experience in highly regulated development and manufacturing environments, Manage resources, priorities, budgets and schedules for on time delivery of quality products
Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment, managing complex projects and cross-functional teams while driving the process to deliver results in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment
Experience developing product requirements and specifications in accordance with customer needs and product concepts; Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills required along with, the ability to report project status across all levels of management
