The Commodity Lead provides strategic and tactical leadership of sourcing across OpCo and develops & implements sourcing strategies that are aligned with business needs for quality, delivery, cost, growth and risk management.
Duties and responsibilities:
Develop and execute sourcing strategies for various Material commodities
Achieve world-class results in Quality, Delivery, and Cost
Develop, integrate and manage preferred suppliers to meet global requirements through systematic performance ratings and Danaher Supply Base Management tools
Develop and implement “best-in-class” supply chain processes and procedures
Negotiate agreements to mitigate supply chain risk and ensure adherence to all key metrics
Provide coaching, mentoring and support to commodity and procurement team members
Champion Commodity Team initiatives throughout OpCo
Lead Procurement effort for NPD
Interact with various strategic sourcing associates (Commodity Team, Corporate Procurement, Manufacturing and Materials Management executives)
Frequently connect with and visit suppliers to establish the appropriate commercial framework for OpCo’s needs and to relay the required processes for doing business
YoY improvement in supplier Quality, Delivery and Cost
Reduction in supplier leads times, MOQ’s, and inventory
Successful project management through execution of Purchase Price Variance (PPV) and Value Analysis, Value Engineering (VAVE)
Improvement of working capital (DPO)
Risk Management through robust analysis and contingency planning. Leads Supplier Risk Management
Funnel Management to drive cost objectives
Knowledge, skills and experience:
Bachelor degree preferred. Advanced business degree (e.g. MBA) beneficial
1 to 3 years overall business experience in manufacturing, engineering, sourcing, logistics, supply chain, or procurement roles
Demonstration of continuing education in sourcing and supply chain
