The Danaher Business System Leader - Lean (DBSL) has the responsibility of promoting and facilitating the successful implementation and evolution of DBS.
Duties and responsibilities:
Lead and facilitate the development and management of Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Quality initiatives to achieve annual targets, Policy Deployment, and strategic plan objectives.
Participate and coach daily Gemba walks and partner with leaders to continuously improve DBS processes.
Link business needs and opportunities to DBS and develop a roadmap to close gaps, install/improve processes, and sustain results.
Demonstrate DBS Fundamentals combined with key Lean processes such as Danaher Materials System, Danaher Reliability System, Procurement, and the Fundamentals.
Partner with Operations Leaders to deploy and lead the current DBS maturity of the operations organization to identify process improvement opportunities and drive improvements.
Directly provide formal and informal DBS training and coaching. Augment with other sources of training and coaching (DBSO). Improve DBS training and facilitation by pursuing certification in DBS tools for yourself and others. Evaluate and approve other associates for tool certification.
Lead all aspects of Operations DBS Visual Management to drive a willingness to kaizen funnel and sustainment, DBS Certified Practitioner (CP) status and plans, active Problem Solving Process (PSP), sustainment bowler, and training opportunities. Schedule, charter, and facilitate kaizen events.
Knowledge, skills, and experience:
7+ years of experience in Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Procurement, Engineering (Chemical is a plus) including at least 3 years in operations or engineering leadership roles.
Must be hands-on and detail-oriented but also able to see the big picture
Shown success in cross-functional leadership with the ability to execute across boundaries and matrices.
Need to be able to think strategically and view the business from a general management standpoint.
Must be very customer-focused and have strong interpersonal and communications skills.
Will need to be a quick study who can rapidly adapt to Danaher’s culture and gain the confidence of the Danaher organization.
This person will be high energy and able to handle conflict.
Will be an independent worker, capable of operating in a fast-paced, constantly evolving environment, and able to effectively look after difficult situations.
This Leader must have a strong Gemba orientation.
Ability to accurately assess key business metrics and situations from a “general manager’s” point of view; effective at structured problem solving and critical thinking.
Mechanical aptitude – the ability to work in operations cells and partner with chemical and production engineers to remove variation in tools, fixtures, and other manufacturing areas.
Experience and validated understanding/application of LEAN tools and concepts.
Extraordinary digital literacy (data analysis, word processing, spreadsheets, graphics, statistical tools).
Must be able to provide concise executive summaries of business performance issues, changes needed or made, results delivered.
Excellent interpersonal skills to work with individuals across all levels of the organization and training others.
