The Global Compensation Analyst is responsible for the execution and administration of our sales compensation and incentive plans, reporting on results, and investigating inquiries. With a strong adherence to process and data integrity, you will be responsible for a vital function and interact with all levels of the global commercial organization and management, finance, and HR.
The successful candidate will be a highly motivated, dynamic individual who is highly detail-oriented and analytical, capable of independent analysis and preparation of data for approval to C-level managers. This person will be technical/software savvy and have experience managing sensitive financial and personal information. This position will be tasked with managing our automated tools for compensation planning and management, optimization of the process as needed, and bringing new insights, technologies, and experience to the team.
Duties and responsibilities:
Coordinate with Sales Leadership in planning and budgeting for the company’s overall compensation program design annually.
Coordinate and supervise Phenomenex's Compensation Process including automated tools integrated with our financial and commercial databases.
Together with sales and marketing leadership, develop SPIFS (Sales Performance Incentive Fund) for product launches and other initiatives. Build global and regional CRM and/or PowerBI dashboards to build visibility and tracking for SPIF programs.
Manage and coordinate all incentive calculations and payouts through an automated workflow, in partnership with finance and payroll teams regionally.
Ensure accuracy of data and performance measurements for each manager and sales/service associate.
Manage all incentive compensation approval processes and ensure proper documentation that is always audit-ready.
Coordinate and analyze the results of market surveys and other evaluation tools to ensure that the company’s compensation rates remain equitable and driven within the industry.
Gather data and perform statistical analysis and interpretation of information to develop and adjust compensation plans in cooperation with regional leadership and finance teams.
Conduct annual analysis of compensation process, evaluate data integrity, summarize results, produce reports, and present findings to decision-makers.
Keep up with pending changes and laws that will affect incentive compensation administration globally.
Train sales associates to ensure that guidelines are understood and matrices are applied correctly, handling complaints and resolving problems.
Create models and projections for incentive programs, showing annual and fiscal impact for each alternative.
Develop and document procedures to streamline processes and ensure continuity during absences.
Knowledge, skills, and experience:
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, or related field, plus 3+ years of experience OR Master’s degree in the field.
Financial planning and analysis skills.
Ability to work under pressure and regularly re-prioritize tasks.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail is required.
Proficient in qualitative and quantitative data analyses and presentation/visualization (MS Excel, PowerBI etc.).
Knowledge of data integration and management to ensure data integrity through automated processes for compensation management.
Solid working knowledge of ERP and financial systems, and CRM systems
Strong presentation and time leadership skills.
Strong communication skills to explain sales compensation to all levels of the organization from front-line employees to the executive leadership team.
Strong problem-solving and operational improvement skills.
