Danaher Corporation Industrial Mechanical Technician in Torrance, California

GENERAL SUMMARY:Under general direction the engineering, Industrial Mechanic is responsible for the safe and timely maintenance and repair of all facilities and engineering systems and equipment.


Assemble, install, test and maintain production equipment’s in the facility, Using hand, power, and precision measuring tools. The Mechanic is fully responsible for Installation and maintenance of Fume hood, Blower, Dust collector, Air Compressor, Air Dryer, Vacuum Pump, Air Driven pump, RO systems, DI System and other components. Comply with OSHA safety and health rules. Responsible for observing and following all safety regulations with required PPE.

Trouble shoot and correct equipment issues as they occur. Set up and change over equipment to achieve maximum efficiency during production.Perform routine and non-routine preventive maintenance as needed or identified. Support production, quality, R&D, warehouse, and administrative staff with projects Maintain all maintenance documents in accordance with plant quality and safety requirements.Recommend and implement plant efficiency projects as identified. Adhere to all maintenance programs with regards to safety. Follow all programs that require additional documentation or permits such as: Confined Space, Hot work, Lock out/tag out.Set-up and maintenance of the following high-speed production equipment Centrifuge, Classifier and Autoclave. Work with vendors and contractors as necessary to perform installation and maintenance work.


2-Year Associates degree in mechanical field.2+ years as a maintenance mechanic in a manufacturing environment, preferable from the Pharmaceutical, Beverage or Food industry Strong background and knowledge in mechanical, pneumatics, and pump repair Knowledge of sanitary design for processing and packaging for the Pharmaceutical industry Good computer skills (Microsoft products) Strong interpersonal skills and teamwork mentality Performs other duties as assigned.

The noise level in the work environment is typically low to moderate; higher level of noise may be prevalent in laboratories or warehouse settings. While performing the duties of this position, the employee may be required to travel or work necessary overtime.


Assists in the creation of a culture of safety and environmental protection by performing work safely in accordance with company and departmental safety procedures. Employee may be exposed to hazards or hazardous materials requiring use of personal protective equipment to prevent exposure. Operates equipment safely and reports any unsafe work conditions or practice to supervisor. If there is an accident or near miss, they must report it to their supervisor immediately.
