The Production Technician I - Sorbent Prep is responsible for preparing work orders to manufacture a variety of different HPLC and Coreshell columns; will require excellent organization, good time management, and attention to detail in a highly repetitive environment. Sets up and operates automatic or semiautomatic machines and related equipment in a continuous production/processing operation. Monitors meters, gauges, valves, flow ratios, temperatures, pressures, and related controls and guidelines to ensure adherence to production/process specifications. Follows engineering drawings, work order information, Manufacturing Assembly Procedures, SOPs, and other written and verbal specifications in the manufacturing process. Installs, modifies, moves, troubleshoots, repairs and dismantles machinery and equipment according to requisition established documentation (e.g., SOPs), layout plans, blueprints or other drawings. Performs the set-up, calibration, testing and troubleshooting of circuits, components, instruments and mechanical assemblies. Assembles mechanical units, fabricated parts/components and/or electrical/electronic systems to make sub-assemblies, assemblies or complete units using hand tools, power tools, jigs, fixtures and miscellaneous equipment. Includes Machine Operator, Process Operations, Product Assembly, and Production Technician roles.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Material verification and Inspection
· Print production cards and labels
· Accurately weigh and label sorbents; pick appropriate empty column assemblies (order from Product Assembly if needed)
· Assure inventory accuracy via timely transactions, performs cycle counts under supervision.
· Maintains appropriate minimum stock levels at point-of-use.
· Complies with 5S programs and participate in process improvement programs.
· Follow written instructions (SOP) for all critical processes
· Follow all Safety procedures, including wearing appropriate protective equipment
· Schedule time efficiently to complete work (production cards) in order of priority
· Keep all work areas, equipment, and tools neat, clean, and organized.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
· Typically less than 2 years of experience
· High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
· Ensures all work is accurate and free of errors / defects
· Requires analytical thinking and problem solving
· Attention to detail, pay specific attention to tasks
· Strong organizational skill, plans and assigns resources in a detailed fashion
