GENERAL SUMMARY:

The Production Technician I - Product Assembly is responsible for maintaining a clean and efficient work environment for the production laboratory, and preparing materials from failed columns for recycle.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:• Assembly of empty column hardware (end fittings, frits, and tubing)• Washing of laboratory glassware• Proper handling and disposal of all waste materials and waste solvents.• Supply of chemicals to appropriate departments, including record keeping for the Chemical Management System.• Maintaining solvent inventory, monitor levels, remove and replace empty containers• Assure inventory accuracy via timely transactions, performs cycle counts under supervision.• Maintains appropriate minimum stock levels at point-of-use.• Complies with 5S programs and participate in process improvement programs.• Follow written instructions (SOP) for all critical processes• Follow all Safety procedures, including wearing appropriate protective equipment• Schedule time efficiently to complete work (production cards) in order of priority• Keep all work areas, equipment, and tools neat, clean, and organized.• Unpack columns and recycle materials according to procedure• Dis-assembles tubes and end-fittings and cleans components• Inspects recycled hardware for defects• Assure inventory accuracy via timely transactions, performs cycle counts under supervision.• Rewashes media and transfers to MMQC• Assembles and maintains tooling used in Production, including transactions in Maintenance Connection• Complies with 5S programs and participate in process improvement programs.• Follow written instructions (SOP) for all critical processes• Follow all Safety procedures, including wearing appropriate protective equipment• Schedule time efficiently to complete work (production cards) in order of priority• Keep all work areas, equipment, and tools neat, clean, and organized.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

• Typically less than 2 years of experience• High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) required• Ensures all work is accurate and free of errors / defects• Requires analytical thinking and problem solving• Attention to detail, pay specific attention to tasks• Strong organizational skill, plans and assigns resources in a detailed fashion
