GENERAL SUMMARY:Under the general direction of the Manufacturing Manager, the Supervisor, Manufacturing will lead and direct the manufacturing technicians, monitor the quality of work, ensure employees receive the proper training, and address maintenance issues. Position will oversee and lead the daily Plant operations including process and procedure improvement activities. Position will be responsible for the performance of the work cells assigned.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide guidance and direction to the Manufacturing team of the assigned work cells Accomplish manufacturing staff results by

  • communicating job expectations.

  • planning, monitoring and appraising job results.

Initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies and procedures Coordinate daily production floor activities and delegate assignments to production personnel Maintain a positive work atmosphere by planning group activities, regular communication and ensuring a progressive work culture Monitor employee work performance relative to expectations and maintain material/workflow through the facility. Be responsible for to enforce Phenomenex. Safety standards Be part of the Emergency response team. Ensure continuity in the supply chain needed to run the operation effectively Monitor and enforce safety policies Always maintain a safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel Ensure equipment and tools are in good working order and available for use when required Ensure all assigned work cells are producing product to the company’s quality standards. Ensure all Good Documentation Practices are followed and a batch records reviewed. Follow all document record retention policies. Learn and use Danaher DBS systems in the workplace. Work with Quality Assurance and Engineers on process improvement. Manage work schedules and monitor adherence to policies Report and discipline non-compliant personnel using the company disciplinary procedures Procure the necessary parts, tools and materials needed for the work cell assigned and possibly for other work cells as well Fill out maintenance requests as necessary Lead regular production meetings. Work with other leads, supervisors, and the Media Manufacturing Manager to Identify and track KPI’s Publish reports and data on a regular basis Assist other personnel as may be required for the purpose of ensuring an efficient and effective work environment. Position report to and works closely with the Media Manufacturing Manager(s) Perform timely annual review for direct reports Uphold all ISO and OSHA standards applicable to the responsibilities above


  • High School Diploma – Required

  • Associates Degree – Required

  • College Degree – Required

  • Master’s Degree – Preferred

  • Working knowledge of Chemical Manufacturing processes and systems


While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; talk or hear. The employee must have the ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include ability to distinguish the nature of objects by using the eye.


Supervisors are responsible for maintaining an environment that is free from discrimination, intimidation, coercion, or harassment, including sexual harassment. Work is performed primarily indoors in an office, laboratory, or warehouse setting; wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions. The noise level in the work environment is typically low to moderate; higher levels may be prevalent in laboratories or warehouse settings. While performing the duties of this position, the employee may be required to travel.


Supervisors are responsible for the safety of their employees by creating and maintaining a safe work environment. New employees must be provided with safety instruction during the first two (2) weeks of employment and receive, as applicable, annual refresher safety training. Supervisors must operate equipment safely and report any unsafe work conditions or practices to their Management and the Safety Manager. Supervisors must ensure that employees work in a safe manner. If there is an accident or near miss, they must submit a Supervisor's Incident Investigation Report to the Safety Manager and Human Resources Department within 24 hours of notification.
