GENERAL SUMMARY: The Production Technician I - Coreshell is responsible for manufacturing a variety of different Coreshell columns; will require excellent organization, good time management, and attention to detail. Sets up and operates automatic or semiautomatic machines and related equipment in a continuous production/processing operation. Monitors meters, gauges, valves, flow ratios, temperatures, pressures, and related controls and guidelines to ensure adherence to production/process specifications. Follows engineering drawings, work order information, Manufacturing Assembly Procedures, SOPs, and other written and verbal specifications in the manufacturing process. Installs, modifies, moves, troubleshoots, repairs and dismantles machinery and equipment according to requisition established documentation (e.g., SOPs), layout plans, blueprints or other drawings. Performs the set-up, calibration, testing and troubleshooting of circuits, components, instruments and mechanical assemblies. Assembles mechanical units, fabricated parts/components and/or electrical/electronic systems to make sub-assemblies, assemblies or complete units using hand tools, power tools, jigs, fixtures and miscellaneous equipment. Includes Machine Operator, Process Operations, Product Assembly, and Production Technician roles.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Pack different sorbents in column hardware using UHP pumps

  • Follow written instructions (SOP) for all critical processes

  • Follow all Safety procedures, including wearing appropriate protective equipment

  • Prepare packing solvents and slurry solvents according to written instructions

  • Material verification and Inspection

  • Data entry in TSA and AX computer systems

  • Schedule time efficiently to complete work (production cards) in order of priority

  • Keep all work areas, equipment, and tools neat, clean, and organized.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Typically less than 2 years of experience

  • Associates Degree or Other Certification preferred.

  • Ensures all work is accurate and free of errors / defects

  • Requires analytical thinking and problem solving

  • Attention to detail, pay specific attention to tasks

  • Strong organizational skill, plans and assigns resources in a detailed fashion

  • Coreshell, plus either K5 or SGU techniques required

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Work is performed primarily indoors in an office, laboratory, or warehouse setting; wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions. The noise level in the work environment is typically low to moderate; higher level of noise may be prevalent in laboratories or warehouse settings. While performing the duties of this position, the employee may be required to work necessary overtime.
