Danaher Corporation Senior Azure Cloud Engineer (Local Preferred, Open to Remote) in Torrance, California

Primary Responsibilities

  • Manage and ensure stability of all our Azure environments that support our eCommerce Website, CRM, and related systems.

  • Identify architectural issues; propose and implement more resilient and scalable solutions

  • Azure cost management monitoring and alerting in all aspects of the DevOps processes

  • Analyze and capacity plan to optimize our cloud software infrastructure by developing and implementing reliability and performance practices that delivers 99% of uptime and availability.

  • Manage infrastructure and applications through automation.

  • Support software development team with optimized CI/CD automated deployment processes.

  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) to guide efficient troubleshooting of production issues

  • Be responsible for troubleshooting and resolving deployment and production issues in a timely manner

  • Setup and participate in a follow-the-sun on-call rotation, including periodic weekend and holiday on-call duties

  • Develop incident response tools, procedures, and KPI for offshore contractors to follow.

  • Demonstrate advanced knowledge of all aspects of Azure Infrastructure, products, and services

  • Scope and effort estimation

  • Attend early morning or late night meetings with a geographically dispersed team.

  • Lead offshore contractors.

  • Performs other duties as assigned or requested.

    General Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in computer science or related field

  • 10+ years of relevant experience building and operating production systems in the following areas: SRE, DevOps, Cloud Operations, Production Engineering.

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in working with Azure cloud infrastructure, products, and services such as Azure Web App, Azure DevOps CI/CD, WAF, Resource Manager, Application Gateway, IaaS, PaaS, etc. (certification preferred)

  • Experiences using the Azure CLI, PowerShell, and other scripting languages and tools to manage/implement Azure resources

  • Experience in automating software deployments

  • Solid understanding of standard TCP/IP networking and common protocols like DNS and HTTP as well as security principals

  • Experience with RDBMS and proficient with writing SQL queries to query databases

  • Experience with Zendesk or other ticketing system preferred

  • Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, etc.) preferred

  • You've mitigated major production incidents and prevented them from happening again via a blameless post-mortem process.

  • Outstanding verbal/written communication and leadership skills, with the ability to engage, influence, and inspire teammates to drive collaboration and alignment.

  • A strong communicator who self-documents their work, willing to help out a team member, and can explain complex technical concepts to business users

  • Must be a team player, able to handle ambiguity, anticipate and react to changes quickly in a fast-paced environment amid conflicting priorities and emerging requests.

  • Ability to take ownership and understand commitment to deliver work on time and with a sense of urgency.

  • Experience working with geographically dispersed agile development teams across the globe

  • Highly organized and strong attention to detail

  • Ability to work independently and effectively
