The Senior Manager, Strategic Alliance plays a key role in building and maintaining relationships with external and internal global strategic partners to drive growth within the various industries we serve! This role frequently collaborates cross-functionally with members from Product Management, Procurement, Legal, Sales, Marketing, R&D, as well as the Leadership team as needed. In this position you will be responsible for fostering strong, lucrative, and positive relationships with our partners both from a commercial sales and operational support standpoint, as well as negotiating and leading contractual agreements within these partnerships.

You will be able to deliver presentations to Senior Leadership, strategic partners cross-functional teams, and other groups as needed. Additionally, this position will lead a small team responsible for overseeing the product management responsibilities for of the shelf, private label, and co-branded products. A background in relationship management, business development experience, and strong business acumen are critical for success.

Responsibilities:

Actively develop and manage key relationships to drive global business opportunities for growth of Phenomenex and Agela products. Interact with cross-functional teams including Legal, Product Management, Sales, Marketing, R&D, Operations, and other supporting functions. Independently and working with Market Development Managers identifies and develops plans for new growth partnership opportunities to present to Senior Leadership. Conduct business reviews with strategic partners on a quarterly or other basis per negotiated agreements. Directs Global Product Manager and supports Procurement team with contractual terms and conditions during 3rd party supply agreement negotiations.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years’ experience or MBA/Master’s degree with 4+ years’ experience or Doctorate infield with 2+ years’

  • Previous experience in alliance management, procurement, product management, sales account management, or market development is desirable

  • Experience managing both large and small key relationships, distribution partners, or OEM manufacturers strongly preferred

  • Strong business acumen and financial aptitude; experience in the Danaher Business System and financial analysis/modeling skills strongly preferred

  • Able to work as a productive member of a team in a matrix organization with the ability to adapt and handle competing priorities

  • Educational background or experience in life sciences preferred

  • Travel potentially up to 35% domestic and international
