We are looking for a EHS Program Leader to work with our Global Supply Chain organization and Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) team of employees across the world. Do you have a passion for EHS? Then we would love to hear from you.

What you’ll do

The EHS Program Leader is responsible for supporting the GSC plants’ strategy on Environmental, Health, and Safety issues and changes for the Cytiva Europe Region-based facilities. The EHS Program Leader works under the direction and supervision of the GSC Sr. Operations EHS Manager. This individual will also function in a team environment to ensure EHS compliance and identify, prevent and resolve potential EHS issues and to mitigate EHS liabilities associated with Change projects.

  • Lead certain assigned Change project aspects (construction oversight, Transfer of Work, technical, regulatory/third party interface, reporting, permitting, compliance, financial, administrative, etc.) of projects and permits in compliance with relevant regulatory programs and Cytiva corporate policies. Change projects may include new major Construction/Expansion projects; Transfer of Work including facility moves from 1 site to another; a re-construction of an existing site; and also a purchase & installation of major equipment.

  • Evaluate facility EHS conditions, assess risks and develop appropriate corrective-action plans and budgets to address deficiencies in comparison to regulations and internal Cytiva policies/protocols (eg. Core Requirements; Technical Standards), and also to address Sustainability & FM Global Fire Protection aspects. Also identify and assist in obtaining applicable permits and handle as required.

  • Keep management apprised of progress and significant developments on key projects.

  • Maintain all EHS change project required records and documentation.

  • Assist local site EHS team in data analysis to identify risks, issues & trends. Develop respective corrective and preventative actions.

  • Evaluate each Change Project with Cytiva EHS Management of Change tools & processes to identify key EHS risks & issues and as necessary, conduct and/or coordinate environmental, occupational health and industrial hygiene monitoring in order to assess exposures to employees and to the environment.

  • Approach Cytiva capacity expansion EHS projects through a Danaher Business System lens including use of visual project management, problem solving, energy, waste, and water management, and other DBS tools.

  • Monitor, forecast and communicate environmental and sustainability costs at the project level.

  • Review and interpret environmental and civil specifications and drawings.

  • Leverage best practices from Cytiva’s Framework 2.0 EHS Management System Elements.

  • Ensure Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Training as required for such Change projects.

  • Verify that appropriate safety equipment and PPE are available to employees’ use and monitor their use to ensure proper fit and use.

  • Prepare and review specifications and orders for the purchase of safety equipment, ensuring that proper features are present and that items conform to EHS standards.

    Who you are

  • BS/MS in safety, industrial hygiene, environmental, facilities, or sustainability management or related engineering degree.

  • Extensive proven experience working with large manufacturing expansions, line moves, or construction project with focus on EHS regulatory compliance, contractor management, and overall change management strategies.

  • Regulatory knowledge for Europe regional level and/or local EU country level equivalent EHS regulations.

  • Proven project and program management skills.

  • Preferred experience in Construction Safety and Management of Change as well.

  • Experience applying Danaher Business System tools to ensure projects are carried out in a compliant and safe way while meeting timelines, and budget targets.

  • Knowledge of facilities systems including electricity, water, HVAC, compressed air, chemical distribution systems, raw material storage, and waste management.

  • Up to 50% travel required, possibly including international travel too.
