About The Position
Are you passionate about science, the environment, and machine learning? Our Data and Applied Science Team is looking for an Applied Scientist to contribute to Aquatic Informatics’ suite of predictive analytics products that enable our customers to protect human health!
We are an interdisciplinary team building and operating ground-breaking solutions that bring intelligence to the management of water and energy over the entire water cycle. You will work with business leaders and domain experts to translate ambiguous business problems into testable research problems and collaborate with scientists and engineers to design, build, test, deploy, and monitor lean, scalable machine learning, statistical, and rule-based products that influence critical real-world decisions.
In this role you can make an impact within our organization with the following job duties:
Lead development of models of water processes and systems
Lead development decision and optimization frameworks to solve critical water infrastructure decision problems.
Code machine learning solutions for features across Aquatic Informatics’s product portfolio.
Build internal tools for monitoring and investigation purposes.
Drive the development of applied science best practices and a culture of excellence.
Mentor junior team members and provide technical leadership.
Masters or PhD in data science, computer science, engineering, statistics, or a related quantitative discipline.
5+ years of industry experience in applied machine learning, predictive modeling and data-driven applications.
Proven track record delivering lean solutions to complex research problems.
Deep understanding of research design and software design.
Outstanding in Python or another high-level language (Scala, C#, Java) skills.
Understanding of time series data as well as analysis and modeling techniques.
Knowledge of process control systems and/or IoT technologies.
Knowledge of water and/or environmental sciences.
