Position Summary

Under the guidance of a Scientist, the Pre-Clinical Services Intern will be responsible for assisting the Analytical team in a variety of bioanalytical assays.

Areas of Responsibility

  • Refer to available literature to prepare study plans and participate in experimental design, problem-solving and technical discussions.

  • Use bioanalytical routine techniques to characterize nanoparticle formulations and assess their potency.

  • Design and perform experiments to analyze the in vitro potency of drug formulations using standard techniques detailed below.

  • Prepare Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), reports and technical presentations.

  • Assist with daily tasks in the lab such as maintenance, buffer preparation, ordering, etc.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications and Experience

  • A third- or fourth-year University Program in Biology, Life Sciences, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biotechnology, Chemical and Biological Engineering, or relevant disciplines with hands-on experience in the laboratory.

  • General knowledge of bioassay techniques

  • Experience with standard molecular biology techniques such as Western blots, ELISA, gel electrophoresis, qPCR, etc., is an asset.

  • Hands on experience with maintaining cell cultures and standard tissue culture techniques is an asset.

  • Must be resourceful, flexible, detail-oriented, organized and with excellent communication skills.
