The Electro-mechanical Technician will be a key member of the Sustaining Engineering team at PNI, assisting the engineering team to support the company’s scientific, product development, and product support goals.About Precision NanoSystems ULC

What you'll do:

While specific responsibilities will be tailored to the strengths of the successful candidate, they are expected to include the following:

  • Support root cause investigations to diagnose, test and document any production and quality issues with electrical and mechanical components, using tools and diagnostic equipment to ensure they meet required performance specifications.

  • Work with the engineering team to test and implement design changes that address internal and field related instrument issues, ensuring that all proposed changes maintain or improve product compliance, performance and reliability.

  • Work with the team to test and introduce production jigs and fixtures that streamline and improve the production process and help transfer engineering changes into production, including developing required work instructions and conducting required training.

Who you are:

  • Diploma in Mechatronics, Electromechanical Technology (or equivalent) is required.

  • Multiple years of experience with troubleshooting and root cause analysis of complex electro-mechanical assemblies is required.

  • Multiple years of experience with the design, fabrication and testing of prototype instruments is required.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Knowledge of electronics design, electrical circuits and analysis skills.

  • Experience with Solidworks or other 3D CAD software.

The salary range for this role is $65,000-$80,000 CAD. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.

This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
