Danaher Corporation Manager Field Service DACH South-East (m/f/d) in Vienna, Austria


The Manager, Field Service is directly responsible for the successful delivery and execution of Hach’s field service contract and on-demand obligations, recruiting and developing Field Service Technicians (FSTs), tracking business and operational trends, and improving the customer-Hach relationship. The position reports to the Senior Field Service Manager.


  • Establish and maintain strong customer relationships by making periodic contact/visits, exploring specific needs, resolving problems, and establishing service strategies

  • Supervise and analyze data to identify and respond to volumes, trends and drivers

  • Regularly review and control travel expenses to align with budget expectations

  • Review customer service contracts and adjust planned FST effort requirements

  • Travel to customer sites and accompany FSTs to evaluate performance, build relationships, and evaluate compliance to standard work

  • Evaluate associate abilities, maintain skills matrix, identify and plan development and growth opportunities; build diverse talent funnel

  • Engage in active performance management activities including associate recognition, training, mentoring and improving

  • Ensure lean and accurate parts inventory within region

  • Drive safety, quality, delivery, inventory and efficiency initiatives

  • Collaborate with the dispatch team for efficient and effective technician routing

  • Bring up product and service quality concerns through the appropriate Hach channels

  • Track, report, and lead Key Performance Indicators for the region

  • Assist in generation of billable quotes, providing expertise on time, travel, and parts requirements

  • Travel as needed for completion of job duties using company vehicles and air transportation, including frequent overnight stays

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a technical field or equivalent experience required

  • 5 years leadership experience or more in an operational / technical environment (Field Service Manager, Field Sales Manager with technical background)

  • Proficient German and English language skills

  • several years of experience in a highly customer focused role, with proven ability to build customer loyalty and meet customer expectations

  • Background with ServiceMax or Salesforce including report development, data input, data analysis, and dashboard creation preferred

  • Excellent communication and presenter skills

  • Valid Driver’s License
