Leica Microsystems is seeking a Product Sales Specialist for the South UK territory. You would ideally be located in the Oxfordshire or Bath area. This is a key UK Sales role reporting to the Product Sales Manager, within the Life Science Research segment. The role will concentrate on the primary objectives of; sales growth, maintenance of margin and improving market share. You will have responsibility for proactively seeking out opportunities to build new business relationships, specifically in the area of “ Confocal Microscopy", and high end Widefield microscopy. This will be achieved through brand promotion and active selling strategies with the implementation of key skills gained from our internal continuous improvement toolkit. Essential to this position will be an enthusiasm to drive the business in a competitive market, combined with detailed and accurate pipeline activity managed through CRM. In addition, the demonstration of good technical skills gained in a life science environment or similar scientific sales role would be a distinct advantage.
Requirements for the role:
Proven Sales record in a similar environment
Ability to drive business success through demonstrating consistent and impressive sales growth over a period of time
Technical ability to demonstrate High level Microscopy & Imaging products
Strong communication skills and a sound business acumen
Effective time management and personal organization
Fluency in English essential and preferably another European language, though not essential
Strong understanding of the sales process and be able to build rapport with customers
Have an outgoing personality with the ability to engage with customers to influence their purchasing decisions
Be able to empathise and accurately sense the reactions of other people to build trust and so influence them with a personal touch
Be self-motivated and maintain a positive outlook even when faced with challenges and obstacles along the way
Possess the most successful trait all high achieving salespeople have in common: Persistence!
- Be “techno-savvy”, not only with their own Product Portfolio and computer literacy, but also understand how the Internet and online marketing concepts can help promote the “sale”
