_General Profile M2: Position will be based in KEN_  Requires specialized depth and/or breadth of expertise  Interprets internal or external business issues and recommends best practices  Solves complex problems; takes a broad perspective to identify innovative solutions  Works independently, with guidance in only the most complex situations  May lead functional teams or projects _NATURE AND SCOPE_ • Directs and controls the service organization for a segment of the company’s commercial operations, to provide a total solution in partnership with sales. • The incumbent develops strategic goals, objectives and opportunities that meet the needs of customers; implements appropriate customer support strategies, manage service employees, and participate in developing tactical and strategic agreements with customers to create alliances. • Manage the field service staff assigning primary service territories and accounts, product responsibilities and training schedules. • Participates in corporate strategic and tactical planning processes for service. • Implement company defined protocols for installations, preventative maintenance and repairs. • Participates in developing operational service objectives and assignments, and delegates assignments to staff. • Develop service business plans and strategies to enhance service and revenues. • Create tactical service plans for sensitive accounts. • Develop and implement cost effective solutions to meet customer needs that minimize company expenses. • Forecasts staffing requirements for the country or region. • Develops resourcing strategies, allocates budgets, staff, tools, and specialized support necessary for cost-effective service operations. • Responsible forhiring/firing/disciplinarydecisions affecting employees. • Recommends or terminates external resources (contractors). • Develops and monitors operating service budget. • Communicates country or region status, issues to executive management and staff. • Adheres to policies and procedures. Fully complies with company guidelines, policies and compliance requirements Ensures and is accountable for full compliance of direct reports and distributor channels Responsibilities * Service Support for Sub-Saharan Africa Management of East and West African countries * Preparation for ISO Audits * Conduct Process Audits to ensure compliance * Third Party Audits * Manage customer complaints and customer relationships * Service Contract pricing and negotiations * Assist Dispatch Engineers into East and West Africa * Approve All Quotations * Assist with Urgent Part Orders * Sourcing Parts when Stock outs * Travel Approval

Qualification
*KNOWLEDGE / COMPETENCIES / EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS*

  • Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Management or 10 years’ experience in a business management role
  • 3-5 years’ experience successfully managing distributor networks and contract negotiations
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • A self-motivated person who looks forward to significant field-based activity (at least 50% of their time)
  • Fluent English (written and oral) and one second major language an asset (specifically to territory language)
  • Basic knowledge of Financial reports, P&L statements and Balance sheet elements
  • Broad knowledge of Beckman Coulter product lines and its competitors _Preferred Skills:_

  • Integrity: demonstrates compliance and ethical standards of the highest levels
  • Business Planning: 3-5year plan development, to include markets, competitors, product fit, pricing, resource requirements, sales potential and profitability, plus required investments and other key elements

  • Negotiation skills: effective closure and retention of business opportunities as well as distributor contracts, plans and management
  • Quality and Compliance knows how Quality systems drive quality and improved performance by the team, satisfies customers and ensures compliance to local and corporate requirements
  • Highly effective teamwork and communication skills: directed at focusing and motivating the teams to success with a demonstrated ability to work with resources
  • Analytical / problem solving skills: able to analyze and understand complex issues and consequently develop plans to capture opportunities, avoid business and customer loses and to visualize market trends from evolving local governmental policy changes
  • Computer applications skills: able to use various computer software tools to analyze, develop and communicate detailed plans / vision over the mid to long term
