As a member of our Research & Development department, the Business Analyst will act as the domain subject matter authority (providing analyst capabilities) within a single software development program within the Leica Biosystems medical device portfolio.
As a member of the Scrum team, support delivery of team objectives as required.
Capture, document and lead formal system requirements to support formal verification/validation of the product.
Collaborate with Product Management/Owners to populate, prioritize and lead the program release backlog.
Contribute towards standard methodologies and process improvements for the products we develop and maintain and the services that support them.
Perform functional modelling and analysis of complex problems.
Review system analysis artefacts produced by others.
Contribute towards regulatory compliance, product safety and security risk management.
Collaborate with software and verification engineers to ensure an effective understanding of the project needs.
Required Education, Experience & Skills:
Tertiary qualification in software engineering or a related field.
2+ years’ of system or business analyst experience
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Experience with application of security principles.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills. The ability to present information in a structured and impactful manner is crucial to this role.
Excellent interpersonal, with a sound ability to negotiate with diverse partners (management, team members, customers, etc.) to build consensus.
A strong understanding of the software development lifecycle.
Working experience in an Agile development team

Desired Education, Experience, & Skills:
Formal certifications in business analysis.
Experience working within a medical device or healthcare environment or other highly supervised domains.
