The Manager, AI Software Development for Leica Biosystems is responsible for ensuring high quality software is developed and integrate a broad suite of Leica Biosystems products to achieve broader interoperability and harmonized workflows for our customers.

This position is part of the Digital Pathology Business Unit and will be located on-site in Vista, CA. At Leica Biosystems, our vision is to advance cancer diagnostics and improve lives.

You will be a part of the AI Applications team and report to the Director, Clinical AI Applications Engineering responsible for the on-time delivery of AI software product portfolio. They will be responsible with project planning and execution, resource allocation and budget management, ensuring stakeholder communication and buy in and enabling process improvement. In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Manage a team of software engineers; responsible for growing an innovative and collaborative team environment and providing technical guidance and support for AI development projects.

  • Oversee the end-to-end AI software development lifecycle, ensuring projects are delivered on time, with high quality and within scope and budget. Responsible for ensuring cross-functional partnership to integrate AI solutions into the LBS product portfolio.

  • Direct and authorize software approach on all software projects and programs either directly or through delegation of authority.

  • Contribute to the establishment and maintenance of the software technology roadmap.

  • Communicate project status, risks and challenges to senior management, prepare/present technical reports and documentation and facilitate effective communication within the team and with other departments.

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, software engineering or related field.

  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience in software development

  • Minimum of 4 years leading people/teams

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Post graduate qualification in software engineering or related experience

The salary range for this role is $160,000 - $180,000. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future.

This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
