The Strategic Sourcing team is looking for a Senior Supplier Quality Engineer who is analytical, collaborative and has an entrepreneurial spirit! The Leica Biosystems Imaging business is excited to be growing in our Vista, CA office, just outside of San Diego. In partnership with the Procurement Team, you will be responsible to improve the Quality of Parts and Services provided by suppliers through a combination of reactive problem solving and pro-active improvement actions.

Major Responsibilities:
Main POC for all Quality communication to Leica Suppliers
Support new Supplier Qualification and Onboarding
Audit and improve material handling to ensure material quality
Procurement representative for MRB dispositioning of NCMR material
Manage Supplier RTV/RMA process
Investigate and resolve Supplier related Quality Problems
Report quality metrics for daily management and Supplier Quality Review Board meetings.
Liaison between Leica Engineering and Supplier to resolve technical challenges by supporting Supplier process developments
Improve component related yields by leveraging Customer complaint and defect per unit rates
Manage Supplier Change Requests by approving process/product changes
Work with suppliers to develop quality improvement plans
Provide SQ support to R&D and Quality Team
Involvement in risk assessments and mitigation
Education and Experience:
Engineering Degree (EE, ME or equivalent)
3+ years’ experience in Supplier Quality within a manufacturing environment required
Experience with electrical components, cameras, machine and cast metal parts as well as, cabling preferred.
Ability to define and work to deadlines.
A sound understanding of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP)
Excellent computer skills

Can use sound reasoning and judgment to recommend the best course of action
Ability to articulate decisions based on business impact

The salary range for this role is $100,000 - $115,000. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.
This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
