The Regional Sales Leader Discovery - Eastern Europe (f/m/d) is responsible for leading the account management and tender specialist team of 7, driving predictable, effective, and compliant orders and sales through optimizing resources to cover the market potential to achieve the operating plan. This position is part of the Discovery Sales Team and will be reporting to the EMEA sales leader.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Team coaching: Drives the performance of your team of Account Managers, providing a regular operating mechanism of feedback, coaching, and managing the annual appraisal system. Create regular opportunities to involve the team to share best practices on opportunity management. Regularly update the team on company and region product strategies and customer insights. Coach and assist team members with the differentiation of product offerings during the various stages of the sales process to move the opportunity to a successful outcome.

  • Financial Performance: Achieves quarterly and yearly Product Operating Plan targets (Orders, Sales, and Margin). Oversee integrity of opportunity pipeline to provide timely, accurate forecasting of orders and sales per the regular reporting cycles within the entire Cytiva portfolio at Discovery Accounts, set up normal funnel review rhythms with the team. Responsible for developing the yearly business planning cycles with the Product Business unit.

  • Works closely with the other regional leaders – Product Zone Leaders, Inside Sales, Field Marketing, Scientific Support/SLS, and Commercial Leader to create alignment around commercial strategy from a product standpoint.

  • Customer, Market, and Product Expertise. Understand and analyze market/competitive dynamics and develop commercial plans to capitalize upon opportunities to grow business. Know, interact, and manage professional relations with key customers in biotech, translational medicine, and academia to ensure an understanding of needs. Contribute to the new product introduction process with R&D, Marketing, and Product Management to ensure the successful launch of new products. Continuously improve the technical know-how of the Commercial team and ensure proficiency in research instruments with practical training and routine communications.

  • Attract, retain, coach, and develop world-class commercial and technical talent to realize product commercial strategy.

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Degree in relevant Life Sciences, Engineering, Chemistry, or equivalent years of experience. Strong knowledge of the Life Science Research market.

  • Three years of progressive commercial and/or product/business management experience in the life sciences industry, including people leadership experience

  • Strong leadership, communication, collaboration, coaching, team building, and influencing skills with proven ability to drive and manage change initiatives in a matrixed environment (empowering others to lead)

  • Understanding of the regional Life Science market. Strong business acumen and financial, organizational, and relationship-building skills.

  • Clear strategic thinker who can create commercial product execution plans and has the tenacity to execute well.

  • Solid problem-solving skills- the ability to resolve complex problems, communicate issues, and propose solutions to external customers and internal team members.

  • Ability to travel up to 30% of the time.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Life science capital equipment sales
