Danaher Corporation Corporate Accounting Manager in Washington DC, District Of Columbia

T he successful candidate will be responsible for managing aspects of the accounting for the company’s corporate function. This includes the closing of the books and preparation of the financial statements. The candidate will work closely with corporate personnel, and the external financial and internal audit groups, and will be a key point of contact for entity Controllers with respect to accounting.

Career progression opportunities exist within the finance groups of our OpCos as well as the corporate finance group in financial planning and analysis as well as controllership roles.


  • Oversee the corporate consolidation processes & preparation of financial statements.

  • Manage corporate accounting systems administration.

  • Manage the corporate G&A costs and related budgets.

  • Manage all corporate cost allocations to subsidiaries.

  • Manage accounting for internal financing arrangements.

  • Prepare and manage monthly reporting packages.

  • Ability to translate accounting and business requirements into reporting processes and requirements.

  • The ability to conduct detailed business and financial analyses to identify potential problems, determine root causes, and recommend appropriate solutions.

  • Ability to analyze complicated issues, boil down to the key points, and develop and implement action plans.

  • Commitment to operating in a way that never compromises ethics and integrity and will be non-political in all dealings with agendas that are above board and understood by all.

  • Skills: Leadership and influence, critical thinking and decision-making, effective written and verbal communication, strong customer focus, quality & compliance oriented.


  • BS or BA Degree in Finance or Accounting required; CPA is strongly preferred.

  • Experience in a large international accounting firm is preferred.

  • A working knowledge of US GAAP is expected.

  • Outstanding communications, analytical, planning, and teamwork skills.

  • Proficiency in excel and good aptitude for accounting systems, especially One Stream, Access/Sequel databases

  • Outstanding people skills with the ability to communicate and interact with all levels of the organization and with many diverse individuals and cultures.


  • Reports to the Director, Corporate Finance & Accounting with significant interaction with the Chief Accounting Officer, Vice President – Corporate Controller, Vice President – Finance, Vice President – Investor Relations, Vice President – FP&A, Senior Manager – FP&A, and OpCo CFOs.
