POSITION SUMMARY
The candidate for this position will be primarily responsible for the accounting and reporting related to the Company’s various employee benefit and compensation plans. Additionally, the candidate will be responsible for providing management with financial data and recommendations for use in accounting and financial reporting, as well as decision-making on major issues.
Key Responsibilities:
Take lead role in preparing financial statements for qualified employee benefit plans and working with external auditors on the annual audits
Prepare annual 5500 filings for qualified benefit plans
Assist in the monthly close process by preparing and recording various monthly journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations
Prepare and track monthly charge outs to subsidiaries of centralized payments of health benefits
Coordinate funding for contributions to qualified plans and distributions from nonqualified plans
Prepare and coordinate quarterly and annual accounting information reported to the Census Bureau
Assist in the stock-based compensation transactions as needed
Assist with robotic process initiatives
Liaison with Human Resources and Treasury departments, third-party vendors, and auditors
Significant interaction with controllership and external reporting functions
Suggest, implement, and document accounting processes, control procedures, and process improvements
The person in this role will also be given the opportunity to get involved in other areas of the corporate finance department that will expand their career experience such as:
Support the quarterly and year-end financial audits and other compliance measures of the company, including:
Review 10Q and 10K of the Company, prepare the Extensible Business Reporting Language (xBRL) reporting and present work to the Chief Accounting Officer
Review quarterly submissions of data by OpCos, analyze results with follow-up to OpCos and present results to corporate management. Topics reviewed include revenue recognition, leases, off-balance sheet items, etc.
Review data requests from third parties and prepare in accordance with Danaher policy
Support management in completing special projects, ad-hoc reporting, and analysis requests
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
BS in Accounting/Finance
CPA license preferred
At least 5 years accounting experience
Experience with qualified benefit plans preferred
Background in public accounting or large multi divisional company preferred.
