The Development Scientist 2- Microbiology is primarily responsible to:
Support systems deliverables associated with the commercialization of new or updated assays (Identification and Antimicrobial Susceptibility tests- ID/AST) and associated software updates.
Support systems validations studies
Maintain the System Validation Laboratory
Support non-product software tool development/validation

You will be an integral part of the R&D team and report to the Director, Systems Group for Microbiology.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
Prepare, execute, and author protocols and reports for system validation studies.
Be responsible for the Systems Validation Laboratory, including maintaining equipment calibration, supply inventory, and compliance to laboratory safety requirements.
Provide key Systems deliverables associated with the commercial launch of new ID/AST consumable products and associated software updates.
Provide support to other Systems members with documentation such as Design Requirements, Design Outputs, and Specifications
Provide support to non-product software tool development and associated verification/validation activities.
The essential requirements of the job include:
Bachelor’s degree in Science, Engineering or related field, with 1-2 years of working in a Medical Device industry.
Work experience should include cross-functional development experience with excellent written and spoken communication skills.
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
Experience and understanding of design controls and risk management
Experience with creating standard work and other types of process improvement activities
Experience working with clinical pathogens such as bacteria and yeast
