The Facilities Technician for Beckman Coulter Diagnostics is responsible for performing, and/or leading emergency repairs, preventive maintenance tasks, and completing work orders as assigned.
This position is part of the Facilities Organization located in West Sacramento and will be on-site. You will be a part of the Facilities Operations Organization and report to the Facilities Manager responsible for responding to work requests, emergency calls, and performing & coordinating preventive maintenance activities. In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
Participate in, perform, and/or lead building, safety, and other facility-related inspections.
Participate in, perform, and/or lead monitoring and scheduling of facilities-related activities, 3rd party contractors, and prioritization of service/request calls.
Participate in mandatory company-provided training including (but not limited to) manufacturing policies and procedures, EHS/safety training, business conduct guidelines, security procedures, janitorial procedures, information security awareness, and compliance training.
Participate in, perform, and/or lead activities such as performing or assisting a multitude of tasks including (but not limited to) those related to EHS, janitorial, physical security, move management, landscaping, plumbing, HVAC, electrical, general building maintenance, operating office equipment (including equipment set-up, operation, routine maintenance), submitting procurement requests, assist with resolving invoice issues with Facilities related suppliers, and attending departmental meetings.
Safely and effectively troubleshoot, repair, and/or work with 3rd party contractors to maintain facilities-related equipment such as HVAC systems, boilers, water heaters, electrical, plumbing, generators, air compressors, forklifts, roll-up doors, automatic doors, physical security systems, fire safety systems/equipment, and other equipment as needed. These repairs may include the use of basic hand tools as well as tools such as a mill, lathe, drill press, and/or welding equipment.
The essential requirements of the job include:
Associate degree or 1-2 years of vocational training or technical certification required. HS diploma or equivalent required. A combination of relevant work experienced and certification in a Facilities, Electrical and/or HVAC/Refrigeration preferred.
2-5 years of successful experience working as a Facilities Technician in a Manufacturing/Production environment
Previous electrical troubleshooting and repair experience required. Must be able to work safely with and troubleshoot systems powered by both high and low-voltage electrical systems.
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
FDA-regulated industry OR medical manufacturing
CMMS, HVAC, and Security systems / database management.
