The Manufacturing Scientist -1 for Beckman Coulter Diagnostics is responsible for the success and routine operations of a custom product, by supporting various elements of routine manufacturing, QC testing, equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and inventory management of the product line.

This position is part of the Technical Operations team located in West Sacramento, CA and will be on-site full-time. At Beckman Coulter, our vision is to relentlessly reimagine healthcare, one diagnosis at a time.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Be the subject matter expert of all areas of end-to-end manufacturing and operations of a custom product

  • Perform elements of routine manufacturing and QC testing of custom product, troubleshoot deviations and minor equipment issues, complete applicable PM and calibration activities in a timely manner

  • Manage a small inventory of consumables applicable to routine manufacturing

  • Change management, including creation/modifications of applicable SOPs/SOIs, custom batch records, validation of new or modified processes

  • Support validation activities for existing and new processes. Lead smaller projects with assistance from team members.

  • Work collaboratively with a cross-functional group including manufacturing, QC testing, process engineering, inventory control, shipping/receiving, and customers.

  • Utilize DBS tools for daily management, continuous process improvements, and problem solving. Be a champion of Danaher D&I values.

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a Science field with 0-2 years’ experience in a regulated environment with knowledge of GDP/GMP.

  • Aptitude in math and science-based analysis as applicable to medical device manufacturing operations.

  • Microsoft Office skills including Word, Excel, Teams

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Prior experience in a medical device manufacturing environment
