The Senior Biostatistician for Beckman Coulter Diagnostics is responsible for the development of large scale data processing tools for assay development; generation of assay/formulation reports; and non-product validation of large scale data analysis tools. The Biostatistician will have an advanced knowledge of analyzing antimicrobial susceptibility testing (AST) and advanced statistical concepts. Similarly, the biostatistician will have a history of successfully developing statistical tools for assay especially in a regulated medical device space.

This position is part of the data science located in Sacramento, California, and will be an onsite role . The Sr Biostatistician will be a part of the development science functional group and report to the data science manager. The Sr Biostatistician will develop tools for processing, analyzing, and visualizing microbial growth patterns. In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Develop, maintain tools to collect and process assay development data; visualize microbial growth patterns; detect anomalies/errors in datasets; generate reports per regulatory requirements.

  • Provide best practices, executing POC for automated data processing operations at scale; design benchmarks, metrics, and monitoring to measure and improve services.

    The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a highly quantitative field (Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Microbiology, Software Engineering, Biological/Chemical Engineering)

  • 8+ years’ experience developing and maintaining SAS/JMP or R, Python codes for large scale data processing, visualization and generation of reports.

  • 8+ years demonstrable experience in experimental design and statistical analysis - sample size calculation, hypothesis test/power analysis

  • 8+ years analyzing complex microbiological assay datasets.

    It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in / familiarity with :

  • Rapid Antibiotic Susceptibility Testing (Rapid - AST)

  • FDA Design controls for medical devices

  • 4+ years’ experience converting SAS code to python for data analysis

The salary range for this role is $105K-$115K. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future. This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
