The Technical Support Engineer for Beckman Coulter is responsible for commercial support and new product development activities for the Microbiology portfolio of medical devices.
This position is part of the Microbiology Operating Company nested within Beckman Coulter and is located in West Sacramento. At Microbiology, our vision is to ensure we that every patient has access to the right antibiotic at the right time as one of the leading ID/AST companies.
You will be a part of the Microbiology Technical Support Team and report to the Service Organization responsible for Hardware and Software support of the Microbiology portfolio of equipment. Troubleshoot and repair WalkAway, autoSCAN-4, WASP, WASPLab, Autoplak and SH2000 devices
Trend, analyze and interpret field generated data for business improvement activities
Develop and publish technical documentation and train global service on new content
Define and implement global initiatives for Service Effectivity and Supply Chain optimization
Work on exciting research and development initiatives for new products and services
The essential requirements of the job include:
Education: BS engineering or equivalent education.
Experience: 1-3+ years’ experience providing service and/or support for electromechanical systems with both software and hardware components.
Technical Expertise: Mechanical aptitude for repair and troubleshooting of electromechanical devices.
Will and able to travel (domestic and international) < 10%
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
Experience supporting products with TCP/IP networking components in a Windows environment.
Skilled technical writer able to document problems and solutions for customers (posting FAQs) and other technical support personnel.
Good problem determination technique. Well-organized, ability to prioritize, and able to follow through on commitments to customers.
