Mechanical Designer / Documentation Manager
Leadership and Management of the Design Engineering and Documentation Teams with focus to ensure all necessary activities required for the projects are provided in accordance to the main key performance indicators (on time, within budget and according to specification). Work in close cooperation with the project managers, process engineers, and commercial organization to provide timely support.
Responsibilities * Responsible for key performance indicators for Design and Documentation organizations. Safety, Meeting Specifications (Quality) On-Time delivery, and budget. * Provide daily direction to the Design and Documentation organizations within the PASS Americas organization. * Ensure performance management and coaching is part of the daily routine. * Drive use of Danaher Business System tools within the Design and Documentation organizations, including but not limited to Daily management, Kaizen, PSP, and TPI. * High level understanding of design engineering and documentation requirements to determine resources needed to execute on customer projects and standard system requirements. * Understanding of the engineering processes, documentation processes, and quality management system processes, to ensure compliance to ISO regulations. * Attend project design review meetings and provide feedback * Ability to understand Component Lists, Electrical Schematics, P&ID’s (Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams), Fabrication Drawings, Piping Isometrics and General Arrangement Drawings. * Ability to work with a technical staff and customers with varying experience levels. * Provide incoming inspection support with verification of Mechanical fabricated components. * Initiate Value Add and Value Engineering (VAVE) cost saving design projects Position Competencies * Familiar with the following software: Autocad 2015, Autocad, Electrical 2015, Autodesk Inventor 2015, Autodesk Inventor 2018, Solidworks * Familiar with the following codes: NFPA 70, NFPA 70E, NFPA 79, UL-508A * Ability to operate in a project and production based organization with strict timelines and frequent priority changes. * Able to support the production process. * Ability to communicate clearly with all levels of personnel within the organization. * Analytical thinking – strong problem solving skills. * Team Player – able to form and motivate people, with the ability to get the most of people within a challenging, or high pressure environment
Basic Qualifications * Associate's Degree in a relevant mechanical/process engineering/drafting. * 2 years' working knowledge of skid fabrication/manufacturing qualification and process equipment. * 5 years' experience with Autodesk Inventor. * 5 years' of experience working in a cGMP environment. Preferred Qualifications * Knowledge and understanding of the current industry guidelines for designing, manufacturing, testing and documenting biopharmaceutical process equipment. (ASME BPE, GAMP, cGMP, ISPE, etc.) * Basic understanding of filtration separation and purification technologies used in the downstream processing (Direct flow filtration, tangential flow filtration, chromatography) * Above average communication skills and self-organizational talent. * Systematic approach of working.
