What you’ll do
Development of packaging designs, methods and processes for efficient transport and delivery of our products.
Interface directly with our customers, suppliers, and internal teams to resolve customer complaint investigations, drive root cause analysis to implement packaging design, process, and supplier quality related solutions.
Support the design, testing and release of packaging for hardware and single-use consumable products. Analyse and validate custom designs per user requirements to meet performance, cost, compliance, and manufacturability targets.
Write, revise and release of packaging product and process documentation including work instructions and specifications for packing/unpacking, crating/uncrating, labeling. Create and maintain all relevant test protocols, technical reports and first article inspections.
Perform ISTA testing and/or coodinate ISTA testing with external test labs for; shake, vibration, compression, atmospheric conditioning) for packaging.
Create and maintain DHF; detail drawings, specifications, assembly drawings and associated Bill-of-Materials, manufacturing documents, including initial assembly instructions, inspection criteria for packaging designs
Verify product performance against design inputs. Write verification protocols, perform testing, analyze, and interpret test data, write and present verification reports.
Revise and release packaging design solutions through the ECR/ECO process.
Lead CAPA activities and complete Customer Complaint records in the Veeva system.
Coordinate project priorities with team and Product Managers.
Maintain a safe work area.
Who you are
Bachelor's degree in either; Packaging Engineering/Sciences or Mechanical Engineering .
Minimum of 2 years relevant experience in packaging design and general understanding of packaging concepts, materials and methods.
Experience in Solid modelling CAD systems either; SolidWorks, Pro/ENGINEER and/or CREO.
Experience working in a packaging lab or working lab environment with packaging test equipment.
Proficient with Microsoft tools; Word, Excel, Power Point, Project and Visio.
Hands-on experience designing, prototyping and testing of packaging materials and components.
Excellent communication and influencing skills and ability to gain buy-in for initiatives.
Master’s degree in Engineering
Proficient with MS Project to create Project Plans, Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) and Gantt chart schedules.
Experience in CAE analysis tools; FEA.
Experience in leading projects/activities to meet customer requirements.
Six Sigma Certification (Green Belt, Black Belt) or knowledge of DFSS.
