Plays a key role in product development and is a necessary member of the core development team. They are responsible for bringing service and customer needs to the attention of R&D throughout the product (development) life cycle.
Must be the Subject Matter Expert on all matters relating to supported instruments and instrument services. The PSE should be able to build parts and instruments in Manufacturing, and perform any and all repairs in the field. They must then have the ability to document these skills, and successfully document and train Field Service Personnel worldwide.
Primary Responsibilities: * Provides product support via e-mail, telephone, video, and on-site as needed to internal and external customers. * Create, edit, release, and control product documentation, procedures, notices, and bulletins. * Provide quality training classes, in person and via telecom/web to students qualifying and enabling them to successfully service our products and our customer’s needs. * Participate and new product development, serviceability, and introduction activities. * Work closely with R&D, Production, Operations, and field personnel team to provide timely feedback and data to continuously improve our products and services.
Skills and Knowledge:
* Experience building, installing and /or repairing complex biotech/medical/research systems.
* Skilled in communicating, both written and verbally.
* Ability to read and write technical documentation and procedures. * Customer Facing Experience * Commercial Service business experience * Team Player * Self-starter
Qualifications: * Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Science or a related field preferred; or 7 years equivalent work experience and/or military training. * 5 years of experience with scientific research instruments, laboratory water systems, metrology, analytical measurement, medical devices or similar complex hardware and software systems. * 3 years of experience in technical instruction or trainer role.
Additional Requirements: * Travel, both domestic and international (up to 50%) * Ability to lift up to 45 lbs. * To work safely and to comply with the company’s health, safety and environmental (HSE) policies and procedures. * Valid Driver’s license
Preferred Qualifications * Previous successful field service experience preferred.
