Position Overview:

Leads cross functional teams to obtain favorable terms, volume discounts with suppliers. Prepares and processes requisitions and purchase orders for the procurement of goods, services and supplies for customer-related business processes or for internal use. Conducts full development life cycle including interviews of users, development of requirements documents, creating design specifications and implementation of requirements. Drive ongoing supplier optimization and continuous improvement.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Oversee, Purchasing, Production Control, Inventory Management and Incoming Inspection for the business unit.

  • Purchasing Point of Escalation for delivery and supplier issues.

  • Manage purchasing team daily activities and provide direction and support.

  • Obtain favorable supplier pricing based upon purchasing variables such as frequency, quantities, capacity, etc.

  • Must be “hands on” and be able to create purchase order REQ’s and purchasing orders in SAP.

  • Must know how to create and release Production Orders in SAP for standard systems.

  • Ensures suppliers are paid based upon agreed schedules and payment terms and conditions within PO’s.

  • Establish and maintain effective supplier relationships. Obtain supply chain feedback via structured methodology and share data with Quality Control and other management groups.

  • Drive PPV and VAVE cost saving activities for the business organization

  • Work with the centralized Material Master Records team to create/edit part numbers for the business unit.

  • Create and execute IC/PO and IC/SO for cross company projects with SAP.

  • Ability to create Builds of Materials and Routings in SAP.

  • Report on material availability for open projects and productions orders

  • Inventory Control for the organization and site reporting lead for the other business units.

  • Review and report WIP, RAW and Finish Goods inventory levels and drive to appropriate levels for the business unit.

  • Work closely with senior management to define and implement efficient methods of using SAP in accordance with business needs

  • Effectively utilize SAP to extract key metric data for senior management.

  • Must have the ability to “trouble shoot” purchasing related SAP issues.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BS/BA degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.

  • 5 years of SAP working experience. Preference with Material Master, Production Planning and Project Systems modules.

  • 2-3 years of experience working with GAAP accounting standards in a project driven environment.
