Pall Biotech's Research and Development Team located in Westborough, Massachusetts is seeking an exceptional, research focused engineer / scientist to contribute to new product development for continuous processing and gene therapy applications. The Engineer II will utilize their experience in downstream purification to develop world class products for our customers.
You will be responsible for conducting hands-on prototype evaluations, scalability testing in order to develop performance maps and product benchmarking in the area of downstream processing focusing on chromatography.
Our Pall scientists and engineers are encouraged to publish and present their work in journals and at industry conferences.
Design and execute experiments required to define and/or evaluate new products and/or processes.
Be a team member in cross functional teams gathered to either resolve a specific issue and/or develop a specific product.
Conduct data analysis, utilize analytical instruments and perform characterization studies with biological products.
Build new experimental setups and/or proficient to work with semi- and/or fully automated skids and data acquisition tools to increase the efficiency of the application work.
Communicate effectively through technical reports and presentations.
Contribute to publications submitted to technical journals and present at scientific conferences.
Comply with legal requirements by adherence to requirements of existing and new regulations and legislation.
Works in a manner that supports teamwork.
Ensures a safe and healthy environment by adhering to policies and procedures.
Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or Biological Sciences and at least 2 years of industrial and/or research experience in the areas of protein purification, downstream processing, filtration, chromatography and protein characterization.
Chromatography experience preferentially of Gene Therapy virus vectors (AAV and Lentivirus) and/or Continuous mAb downstream processing and automation.
