About the Software Sales Manager role:

The Software Sales Manager is a key member of the Sales leadership team. This position is responsible for establishing best practices for AQI municipal technical sales executives and driving the growth of software for municipal water quality compliance and operations management . This position requires working collaboratively with our sister company, Hach, through a team selling approach.

  • Manage the AQI municipal Technical Account Executive (TAE) team and motivate them to achieve our goals

  • Reinforce strong sales processes, funnel and opportunity management, and a consultative sales approach

  • Recruit, manage and develop a team of high-caliber technical sales talent (Direct)

  • Facilitate the individual growth and development of the team by setting objectives, performance standards, and priorities, coaching, and acting as a role model on sales approaches and account leadership

  • Develop and apply an in-depth understanding of the company's municipal market, including industry, marketplace, strategies and trends, competitors, and competitive tactics to develop an effective long-term sales strategy and plan

  • Directly develop new market segments, and engage customers and partners at the executive level

  • Ensure strong collaboration with Hach sales channel to develop an adequate pipeline of opportunities and effective lead generation strategies for rapid growth

  • Responsible for the creation, execution, and reporting of quarterly and annual sales forecasts as it relates to the technical sales functions

  • Manage, track, and report on customer and prospect information in Salesforce

Are you qualified?

  • Post-secondary degree or the equivalent combination of education and relevant experience

  • 5+ years of experience with B2B and B2G sales

  • 3+ years of experience building and leading a successful sales team

  • Direct experience selling enterprise software and SaaS solutions to municipal governments

  • Experience developing new market segments and engaging customers and partners at the executive level

  • Self-starter and team player who is motivated to succeed

  • Experience with team-selling approaches

  • Proven track record of closing deals, consistently exceeding sales targets and consistently achieving sales forecasts

  • Direct experience selling hydrology, water quality, and/or water resource management solutions an asset

  • Ability to learn new software applications quickly

  • Demonstrated independent, results=driven work ethic

  • Proven track record leading a successful sales team

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, organizational skills, and time management skills
