We are currently seeking an Engineering Manager who will be responsible for managing a group of engineers and driving change to improve the capabilities of the Engineering department (and the wider IDBS audience).

What we’ll get you doing:

· Manage the growth and development of your engineers using tools such as performance reviews, 1-2-1 meetings, objectives & training plans

· Help your team members deliver high quality software by mentoring them on best practices and patterns in software engineering

· Delivering key cross functional initiatives, supported by the Engineering Director, to improve quality & productivity. For example: championing best practices, researching new tools, improving communications

· Support a culture of learning and experimentation – books & videos will only take you so far!

· Drive continuous improvement – there are always opportunities for improvement and you’ll help to make them happen

· Encourage collaboration and communication, not just within engineering, but also across other departments

· Cultivating a quality mindset within the organization by ensuring company policies are followed, but also identifying improvements to those policies to reduce friction

Here is what success in this role looks like:

· Proven management and leadership skills used to build an engaged engineering teams

· A passion for people management and the ability to support them to perform

· Ability to effectively communicate complex/technical information and data for a range of audiences (both verbally and written)

· Able to listen actively, with appropriate responses considering the views of others.

· Experience in software engineering and practices, including SaaS software and continuous delivery

· A desire to drive change and improvements

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

· Amazon Web Services (AWS)

· Working with Regulated/Validated environments
