Description

Videojet Technologies, Inc. is seeking someone with hands-on lean manufacturing experience who would be interested in transferring those skills into a customer facing career in the role of Customer Efficiency Champion - Productivity Solutions Group . This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast growing, global organization. The employee will be a key member of a team executing a Videojet Strategic initiative to expand into Software as a Service (SaaS) and associated offerings that provide our customers with actionable data to drive increased efficiencies within their Packaging Operations. The services offered by this individual will be a key part of Videojet’s value proposition

Primary interaction will be directly with customers but this individual will also closely interact with the sales team, product management and R&D to acquire new business and continually expand and improve the product offering.

/Key Responsibilities:/

•In concert with the Sales Team work directly with customers in a pre-sale situation to establish the need and opportunity to apply lean principles using VideojetConnect Packaging Line Visibility and Productivity Suite on their packaging lines, by:

oAssessing the customer’s current data collection and continuous improvement practices

oIdentifying opportunities for improvement that can be driven by VideojetConnect

oManage Trial customers to establish success criteria and at the end of trial be able to compare results vs. that criteria

oSuggest necessary process changes to achieve the best results with VideojetConnect

•Post-sale, continue working with customers to ensure subscription renewal by:

oPeriodic checks of available analytics to assess system usage

oIn person and remote customer sessions to analyze the produced data

oSuggestions for continuous improvement initiatives based on the data

oFollow-up to assist with sustainment and tracking of results

oIdentify and close opportunities for paid lean consultancy engagements if desired by the customer

•As an outcome of the two above responsibilities this position will also be expected to:

oReport Bugs and Usability issues to the Product Management team

oSuggest expanded features or totally new associated functionality that could expand the appeal and served market for VideojetConnect

oAccumulate efficiency improvement results across our customer base for the purpose of:

  • Creating benchmark studies

  • Identifying to Product Management potential reference or testimonial sites

•Create, and on a regular cadence update, standard for the role

•This scope of this role is North America. The individual will be asked to assist with the roll-out (transfer of standard work, training, etc.) of VideojetConnect to other regions but will not be expected to support customers in additional geographies

Qualification

•Education/Certifications:

oBachelors of Science in Engineering, Quality Management, Operations Management or related discipline

oMinimum Green Belt Six Sigma Certification required (Black belt preferred).

•Work Experience:

oAt least five years of work experience in a lean manufacturing environment, with responsibility for conceiving, executing and sustaining Continuous Improvement initiatives

oExposure to Packaging Line processes and the associated equipment required

oExperience in Food or Other CPG related industry preferred

oLean manufacturing consulting experience highly desirable

•Skills required:

oDeep understanding of Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) measurements and how to use that data to identify the 6 Big TPM losses

oKnowledge of how Kaizens are organized and run

oSystematic problem solving and process mapping

oAbility to work with a customer to convince them to effectuate change and help them overcome implementation obstacles

oA self-starter who once directed needs minimal supervision to complete a task on time, on budget and correctly the first time

oClear and crisp communication to multiple levels with both internal and external parties

oAbility and willingness to travel 35-50% of the time.
