Danaher Corporation Project Manager (Capital Projects) in Worcester, Massachusetts

This Project Manager position will be responsible for oversight of strategic capital projects that span building construction, direct manufacturing equipment implementation, and environmental compliance and sustainability improvements. The successful candidate will have a Project Management background, experience working and leading external consultants and have a track record of “hands on” project execution within electrical, process, mechanical, chemical and/or environmental engineering environment.

T his position will be based ON-SITE at the Putnam, CT location.

Job Functions

  • Develop and execute technical strategy to deliver overall project goals, and address conflict resolution throughout the project as they arise.

  • Capacity to plan, prioritize & complete projects on time. Excellent project management skills and ability to balance multiple responsibilities and timelines.

  • Effectively communicate project risks and progress succinctly to leadership and sponsors

  • Build project plans with flexibility in approach and methodology; builds detailed project timeline, risk management and budget/forecasts.

  • Lead project execution against schedule, revising as appropriate, to meet changing project needs and requirements.

  • Provide recovery action plans using problem-solving process (PSP) methodology when tollgates are not met to get the project back on track.

  • Influence team across functions while raising resource, capacity, and performance concerns. Ability to hold all team members, incorporating external resources, accountable to complete the project on time, within scope and on budget.

  • Navigate the organization and proactively build room to collaborate across functions

  • Demonstrates high levels of attention to safety and ethical behavior

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required with a preference in Engineering-related degree (Electrical, Chemical, Mechanical, Process or Materials Science)

  • Certification in Project Management preferred (PMP) or equivalent through demonstrated work activity.

  • Prefer 7-10 years of professional experience working within an engineering discipline, and prefer a minimum of 3 years of practical experience in planning and execution of large development projects including those for capital, mechanical or electrical projects (>$1m)

  • Understanding of EPA Clean Air and Clean Water Act, and OSHA regulations

  • Proven business discernment to allow links between project, company goals and P&L
