The Project/Process Engineer will be the lead engineer for projects delivering bioprocess equipment to our customers. This position performs process engineering activities such as equipment design, process control, and verification testing but just as importantly engages in hands-on selection and use of the right equipment for our customer’s process. This role is a significant part of a larger project team responsible for meeting customer’s needs by delivering Pall Solutions on time, on budget, and according to specifications!
While this position is being promoted in several different cities, it represents one onsite or hybrid position based in Westborough, Massachusetts.
Essential Job Functions
Take ownership of all technical project deliverables, communicating effectively with the team to coordinate work.
Define technical solutions including analysis of process mass balance, equipment selection and sizing and complete basic designs (process and instrumentation diagram, component lists and process functional specifications) and technical turn over package.
Successfully communicates cross functionally on progress monitoring, reporting, and coordination of sub supplier activities (i.e., mechanical fabricators, electrical fabricators, and software companies).
Execute and coordinate all activities to manufacture and test the systems such as incoming goods inspection, assembly reviews and verification activities at the various project stages (pre-FAT, FAT, SAT).
Engage with the team in pre-order activities in coordination with the project manager, project sponsor, peers, or experienced team members.
Request, analyze and implement quotations for all main sub suppliers and include in technical proposals to generate Project Costing sheets including material and manpower costs.
Write technical proposals including clarification and exclusion lists.
Participate in Continuous Improvement processes and execute daily visual management.
Share your knowledge with your peers. Develop training material for associates, identify training opportunities and share your project’s lessons learned with coworkers.
Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering, Bioprocess Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
3+ years of relevant engineering/technical work experience where you:
Gained firsthand experience working with equipment for biopharmaceutical manufacturing in operations or engineering and/or
Gained solid understanding and practical experience of engineering design, testing and installation of process equipment
