This position is part of the Customer Success Department located in France and will be fully remote. Note, other central European locations will be considered however the successful candidate must be fluent in French and English. At IDT, we are one global team. The Bioinformatics Scientist - Field Applications is responsible for the bioinformatics support for IDT’s secondary analysis software Archer Analysis which is utilized by Next Generation Sequencing product lines FusionPlex, VariantPlex, LiquidPlex and Immunoverse. The focus of this position is to enable our customer’s success and satisfaction by providing dedicated onsite and remote assistance on data analysis related inquiries. This position’s main territory will be the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA).

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Provide best-in-class technical field support for IDT NGS customers on-site and remotely, including software training and troubleshooting

  • Communicate complex concepts and engage in difficult conversations while building and maintaining strong relationships with customers

  • Collaborate with internal teams to identify key customer requirements for future product development efforts, and to ensure the value of the NGS product line is communicated clearly and effectively to customers

  • Present technical information both internally at regularly scheduled department meetings and externally to the molecular biology community at large, including conferences and industry trade shows

  • Maintain a broad expertise in the bioinformatics field and in the IDT product lines and other relevant competitive technologies

  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of internal and external learning resources, including internal knowledge bases

  • Demonstrates behavior consistent with the Integrated DNA Technologies Core Values

  • Performs other duties as assigned

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Molecular Biology, Biology, Bioinformatics or related Life Science field required; Master’s or PhD graduate degree preferred

  • At least 3 years of experience in NGS, the life science industry, or an academic research environment with demonstrated knowledge and understanding of computational and biological issues

  • Basic script writing experience and comfortable working in Linux command line

  • Ability to travel (approximately 50%) with occasional travel outside assigned territory. Location close to a major transit hub is highly desirable.

  • English and French fluency

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Strong understanding and experience using NGS bioinformatics algorithms/software, extensive Python and Galaxy experience preferred

  • At least 1 year of experience in a customer support or customer-facing role with demonstrated troubleshooting capabilities

  • Hands-on experience with NGS library preparation

  • Experience working with CRM systems, Salesforce preferred

    This position is advertised as being based in France however other central European locations will be considered.
